The Gathering Table: Black Feminist Conversations
Join us for a live version of the forthcoming podcast hosted by Moya Bailey and Demita Frazier, The Gathering Table, at Haymarket House.
Longtime organizer, activist, and founding member of the Combahee River Collective, Demita Frazier has made her way back to her Chicago roots and is working on a memoir about her life. Moya Bailey is a professor at Northwestern University, a 3-year transplant to the City of Wind, and is known for coining the term "misogynoir" which describes the anti-Black racist misogyny that Black women and people read as Black women experience. The two have forged a near decade long friendship across state, national, and generational borders. Gather round to hear them chat about the intergenerational tensions and ecstasies of Black feminists in praxis as we run up to the 2024 election. What do Black feminists have to say about what the world we want and how we get it?
